Ice Scoopz: Wednesday Morning

*-> If anyone already hasn't heard Jonathan Cheechoo is now a free agent after being bought out by the Ottawa Senators late yesterday afternoon.

*-> The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without defenseman Mike Van Ryn for the entire 2010-2011 season. Van Ryn is still recovering from knee surgury and has told the Leafs management he will not be able to play. He is expected to try and resume his career next season. Tough break for Van Ryn, I personally thought he had already hung em up.

*-> David Clarkson has signed a 3 year deal with the New Jersey Devils. Clarkson will make 8M$ total and roughly 2.66M$ over the next 3 years.

*-> The Nashville Predators are close to signing Jonas Andersson who was recently released Dynamo Moscow of the KHL. Andersson does have some NHL experience as he was drafted by the Predators in 1999 33rd overall. He only played 5 games in the NHL but played over 150 in the AHL.

*-> Evgeni Nabokov has told the Philadelphia Flyers he may sign with them but plans to see what the market is like first on July 1st. Doesn't look good for the Flyers as both Turco and Nabokov now have turned them down. The Flyers may end over paying for a free agent goalie just to make sure they get one at this rate. They still have a chance with Nabokov but he most likely will go where the most money is at.
