ice Scoopz: Breaking News

*-> It looks like the Jason Spezza situation is coming to an end shortly. It appears that Marc Savard has waived his no trade clause to ether the Ottawa Senators or the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs have been connected quite some time as they've trying to land a star center. The Ottawa Senators have been trying deal Jason Spezza so both ways could work except it doesn't work for Boston because of their cap situation. Its appears that Mark Savard is definitely going to one of these destinations and we're going to have to stay tuned to see which one.

More tonight including a complete run-down of all the draft day trades and a complete analysis on the Canadian teams drafting.

Trading for spezza makes absolutely no sense for the bruins. They are trying to shed cap not pick more up. No way that trade happens.

By the way, don't know if you watched all the sens post-draft interviews, but Murray said directly he and spezza were going to sit down and figure out how to put all the rampant speculation to rest. Stop feeding this fire people.

I also read an interview where Murray said he's going to have this resolved this week if something happens or not. You don't say if something happens for no reason. Theres no doubt Murray has tested the water with Spezza. where or not he decides to make a deal is another story.

It doesn't make sense for ether party in my opinion ether but it sounds like the making or a 3 way deal. The Savard to Toronto is more likely however.

Holding the Leafs first next year, why the hell would Chiarelli send Savard to Toronto to play with Kessel? You would have to feel strongly that whatever was coming back was going to land you in the final.

With Raask their number one, Wideman gone to Florida and uncertainty in the middle with Savard gone (Seguin's a bloody rookie), Boston can't believe that anything the Leafs have can put them over the top. Not to mention Washington, Pitt and Philly. I don't believe Savard to Toronto makes any sense.

I didn't see the interview you mention Scoopz, but I saw several with Murray where it seemed pretty clear Spezza wasn't going anywhere.

With Boston still needing to unload Thomas and in need of D, Spezza for Savard makes no sense.

I could see a slim chance of Savard coming here for a package including Kuba, but I don't believe Chiarelli would trade him within the division.

As his NTC loosens with more teams added, Boston will wait for a chance to move him outside the division.

I want to see that Cheechoo for Souray thing come to fruition. I'd also like to see one of Lombardi, Svatos or Frolov come here on a reasonable contract.

Spezza has a 4 million bonus due to him on July 1st...look for the snes to dump him b4 that to avoid being stung with the 4 mil.

I agree Jalen it doesn't make sense for the Bruins at all. we'll have to wait till July 1st to see the other 3 teams. hopefulyl for the B's it'll be out of the division haha.

as for Mr. Spezza I think he's staying. Murray definately put his name out their on purpose but after looking at his options I don't believe he has any other choice but to keep him. Murray has no-one else to turn to and unless he's willing to test the murky waters of fishing for a free agent centerman with the same capabilities as Spezza which isn't happening. The interview I saw/read was in the Citizen so how acurate it is, is anybodys guess. all the lastest ones Murray seams to be hinting towartds keeping him and resolving the issue which is impossible to do. As i said before Murray created an even bigger media mess by leaking his exit interview and now the spotlights going to be on him all season long. Goodluck to Bryan Murray and the Sens fixing that one.
