Ice Scoopz: Wednesday Afternoon

*-> Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun has put forth a trade rumor coming out of Tampa Bay. The rumor Bruce insists on being true is a deal between the Montreal Canadians and the Lightning which would see Carey Price head to Tampa for french Canadian Martin St. Louis, it doesn't make much sense at all since the Bolts have quite a bad goalie log jam already. If the Lightning can send a goalie or goalie prospect to Montreal as well naybe. Riku Helanius and Kari Ramo are already disgruntled and in Europe while the Bolts also have prospects such as Jaroslav Janus in waiting. That's not the pro
blem with this one however. The Canadians do not gain anything ether out of this as they already have a tiny framed squad. Why would they add another small winger to the equation? I feel this one has no grounds at all. Another mystery out of the Sun.

Maybe they don't plan on signing Plekanec and are trying to replace him with St. Louis?

Its a possibility but that leaves Montreal thin down the middle and still doesn't solve the size issue. If anything the habs would be trying to pry Lecavalier once again for Price.

Thanks Joven, although our blogs are completely unrelated.
