Ice Scoopz: Sunday Morning

*-> The St.Louis Blues have resigned Matt D'Agostini to a 1 year deal for 550K. D'Agostini was acquired last season from the Montreal Canadiens.

*-> Tomas Vokoun has been reportedly taken off the market. Dale Tallon has reportedly told the goalie he won't be traded unless he gets a steal of an offer or Vokoun asks out. Nothing official yet but its expected he'll play out this season for the Florida Panthers till Jacob Markstrom is ready to take the reigns. On the flip side of things the Philly Flyers are also rumored to be offering up Jeff Carter for Vokoun. I can see both ways being plausible especially if Florida wishes to start fresh but it all depends on Markstrom.

*-> While on the subject of the Flyers and Jeff Carter it's expected that ether Carter, Daniel Briere or Simon Gagne will be dealt before July 1st. I've heard whispers of interest in Minnesota for Jeff Carter. Minnesota has been reportedly looking to ythe trade route for a player of Carters fitting. I've also heard rumors involving Jeff Carter to Nashville. The Preds dealing Arnott yesterday is reportedly a cap dump to make room for another deal and I've heard a follow up deal could be next in line for Nashville for Carter. It could be possible but the Preds would have been smart to have included Dan Hamhuis in the package instead of dealing him before hand unless they really covet Parent. However it could just be an insurance defenseman due to Hamhuis departure.

*-> The next connection links the Predators dump yesterday to ......sorry Sens fans but it is a rumor and I must report it no matter how illogical it may seam. The Ottawa Senators are reportedly in the process of a deal that should fall in the upcoming days and it is being reported by ESPN that it is Jason Spezza to the Preds. I have seen multiple sources saying the Sens have something in the works for before the draft Friday but you all know my feelings on the Sens actually trading Spezza so I won't expand on my thoughts on this one except in theory it makes sense for Nashville but not the Sens at all unless they get an offer too good to pass up.

Scoopz.... Any rumars of Carter coming to TO for Kaberle?

Kessell/Carter/Kulemen sounds pretty decent!

I thought Kaberle was going to Pittsburg for Crosby, Malkin, Fleury and a first?

We coudn't take advantage of Pits like that....

I would prefer Kaberle to FLA for Horton and Weiss..... Gunnerson is ready to step in and take over for Kaberle..

Interested to hear from a Leafs fan just what exactly most fans are REALISTICALLY expecting from Kaberle.... I mean do most of you think Carter is a fair deal in this market? From a Sens fan standpoint I wouldn't think so, Carter should be a perennial 40 goal scorer, but I'm not as close to the team...

Should be but fell flat on his fave in the finals...you know what thats like being a sens fan...Spezza and Alfie!

Philly Offered Carter for Kabs straight up and Kaberle rejected the trade! So id say thats a fair deal...Kaberle a 70 point dman..smooth skater and possible best first passer in the game for 4.25 mil may just be the best deal in the game today. All Hail!

I haven't heard anything yet about Carter to TO. I think Philly is out of the hunt for defenseman as they just landed their help in Dan Hamhuis. If he doesn't sign it could be another story though. I have also heard the Flyers are close with Brayden Coburn so it's not looking good.

Right now Patrick Sharp is your best option for all Leafs fans.

The Leafs did have a deal in place with Pihlly but many can debate whether or not it included Carter. Its hard to say but he could have been a fixture. There are not many defenseman like Kaberle avaliable. He is a solid Dman but I think many teams are being scared away by his no trade clause and his free agency next year. One more season and he will no longer be a cheap and affordable best first passer.
