Ice Scoopz: Tuesday Afternoon

*-> The Detroit Red Wings are rumored to be interested in the services of Georges Laroque. Ken Holland told the media Monday the only major signing expected from the Red Wings is the signing of an enforcer. Many rumors have started swirling about the Wings and big Georges Laroque who was recently bought out by the Montreal Canadiens. It's hard to believe Laroque would fit in with the speedy Red wings but Todd Bertuzzi did so he may fit the bill if he takes a major pay cut. Derek Boogaurd could be another option for the Red Wings as it looks like the Wild are going to walk away.

*-> Bobby Ryan of the Anaheim Ducks is starting to get worried he's told the media last week as he and the Ducks management have not spoken in quite some time and reportedly are no where near a deal. This is leading many to believe that the Ducks may part with the goal scoring forward to obtain a top pairing defenseman to replace the retired Scott Niedermayer. The Toronto Maple Leaf's are desperate for some scoring and Ryan could be a good fit. Kaberle is also a perfect fit for the Ducks and should ease the pain of losing Niedermayer. The only downside is Kaberle is a free agent next season and has a no trade clause that will kick in. meanwhile GM Brian Burke has only a few offers on the table for Kaberle but nothing worth jumping on. Both teams have situations going on and it might be a good fit for both the Ducks and the Leafs.

*-> Mike Modano has stated yesterday he is going to wait till July 1st and free agency to see if theres any interest before making his big decesion. He also hinted on the Dallas Stars heading in another direction and he may not be with the squad. Modano's getting on in years and unless he's ready for a 3rd or 4th line role it might be worth his time to hangem up.

Scoopz,

Could you really see the ducks letting go of a gem like Ryan? I mean, Burke will try his best to bring the good players that played under him over to the blue and white, but I dont see the ducks letting him go. I realize that they do have a void with the retirement of neids, but I would think it would take more than Kabs to bring ryan over. He has been quoted saying he's not looking for perry and getzy type money, so I would think the ducks get him locked up long term and go d shopping via trade or free agency
