*-> The Chicago Blackhawks search for a veteran defensive defenseman has ended for now. While it is rumored they may add another they have officially signed Jassen Cullimore to a 1 year deal worth minimum. Cullimore will continue playing in Rockport of the AHL till needed. Chris Chelios reportedly has been on their radar as well but isn't willing to leave the Wolves quite yet. The Phoenix Coyotes and the Montreal Canadians have both also shown interest without prevail.
*-> The Nashville Predators have been in contact with UFA goalies Dan Ellis and Pekka Renne regarding contract talks. It is reported they will meet several times throughout the break to try and get something done or planned. It is expected the Preds will attempt to shop one or the other depending on the talks at the deadline.
*-> Glen Sather has been in talks with the Edmonton Oilers about Sheldon Souray. Souray has said New York Rangers are on his trade to list. Wade Redden is expected to be waived to make room. It is rumored the Oilers would want a 3rd and ether Artem Anisimov or Brandon Dubinsky in return.
