*-> Brendan Witt has cleared waivers today. Brendan Witt has been assigned to Bridgeport of the AHL. Its a shame a great character guy has ended up in the minors. I expect come closer to the deadline he might attract a little attention. That's one of the downsides to playing in a salary cap world.
*-> No major news regarding Ilya Kovalchuk at the momment. It looks like the main players appear to be the Devils, the Kings, the Bruins who Waddell has stated arnt close with there offers, and now apparently according to sources the Ducks are involved now. Most media sources are now saying there is a dark horse in the running, my guess is Nashville. Kovalchuk apparently has turned down a 12 year 101 million dollar deal. Some are saying this could be a scare tactic to force Kovalchuk into signing. More on Kovy tonight.
*-> Sources are saying the Nicklas Wallin deal is very very close and it SHOULD be San Jose.
