Ice Scoopz: Thursday Evening

*-> Sheldon Sourays injury still hasn't stopped the Oilers from trying to deal him. The Oilers are pushing hard to the point where Souray is willing to push himself harder to make it back before playoffs. Its still the Californian teams in his sights. A report today on TSN reported that on his trade to list is 6 teams. The Ducks, LA, Dallas, Philly, the Rangers and the Caps. I'm almost positive however San Jose is still one of his choices as well as Florida. The Ducks have shown interest in him all season long and although I thought the Washington rumors to be strange they could actually be a suitor. Whether or not any of these teams want the risk is another story. I expect somebody to take a gamble if its a reduced asking price.

*-> Mike Ribeiros name is circulating again today with the Stars looking to dump cap due to their financial woes. Ribeiros cap hit of 5 mil might scare off most teams at this point but once the dominos fall a desperate contender might take a flyer on him.

*-> Ville Leino is on the block according to rumors. With Franzen set to return soon the Red Wings are forced to dump some cap space and Leino and May should be the odd men out. Leino has hardly lived up to expectations. The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Phoenix Coyotes have been connected to Leino but its yet to be seen if ether are actually interested. Bryan Murray has a good record with young Scandinavian prospects and he is looking for offensive help. Longshot but a cheap option.
