Ice Scoopz: Wednesday Noon

*-> The Toronto Maple Leafs have resigned forward Mike Brown to a 3 year deal worth 2.21$ million overall.

*-> Those Toronto Maple Leaf rumors of Tomas Kaberle's agent Rick Curran meeting with GM Brian Burke later this week has proved to be untrue. The blueliner has not spoken to Burke inragrds to his no trade and nor as Burke spoken to Curran. Curran has also told the media Kaberle will not ask to waive his no trade or present a list to Burke and may not even if approached by Burke. It would be a wait and see situation to see if he'd be willing at the time. It's said Burke will still meet with Curran but both parties want to keep everything hush hush to avoid the situation they faced last season. Curran also said he doubts his client will resign with Toronto.

*-> Brian Burke has however reportedly been handed a trade to list provided by fellow defenseman Francois Beauchemin. The list is said to contain 12 teams of interest to Beauchemin. San Jose and Columbus are both interested.

*-> Ales Kotalik is attracting some interest from around the league despite the Oilers still not being sold on dealing the winger. The Pittsburgh Penguins have interest in Hemsky as they've been seeking a winger for Sid the Kid for quite some time. Off the chart rumors has the Florida Panthers possibly interested as well.

*-> Evgeni Kuznetsov is reportedly being wooed big time by his club Traktor as they've been trying to keep the Russian prospect in the KHL. The "Kuz" is said to be seaking a multi million dollar deal and his recent KHL All-Star game nomination could be a sign of the league attemptiong to make a big push. When reently asked if he would jump to the NHL he responded not too sure we'll see at the end of the season when his response after last years camp was I definately want to return to the NHL as it's a personal dream. The Capitals may have to get star sniper Alexander Ovechkin to make a call to try and sway the young star. Fellow Captial prospect Dmitri Orlov appears also unsure of a jump across the pond.

*-> In other KHL prospect news it appears that Vladimir Tarasenko may be the next Russian prospect to bolt to the US as he's reportedly told Sibir management he'd like to give the NHL a chance as long as it was in the show and not the AHL. Tarasenko is currently out for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury so how that plays out to his arrival in St. Louis is unknown.
