*-> I'm not too sure what's going on with that Pittsburgh / Nashville trade. It was announced on the Pittsburgh Penguins website then quickly taken down. I dug a little deeper and it seams that the deal is an ECHL deal that sends Casey-Pierre Zabotel to the Cincinnati Cyclones from the Wheeling Nailers for forwards Christiaan Minella and Sam D’Agostino. Still no clue if Nashville and Pittsburgh has made actually traded prospects it just looks like their minor league teams making deals.
*-> The second Toronto deal could clear tomorrow once the dust settles with Jonas Gustavsson and the Islanders get a full injury report. It appears to be an accelerated heartbeat that pulled the "Monster" from action, many are saying it's not serious and still just a precaution.
*-> The Ottawa Senators are still working the phones, Bryan Murray confirmed it tonight he is planning another move soon. Many of the longtime Senators are saddened by the trading of Mike Fisher. As reported earlier it appears multiple sources now have reported Chris Neil is unhappy with the trade. Still no word on Chris Phillips willing to lift his clause but many believe he will at this point rather than leave via free agency. The Boston Bruins are still high on Phillips although I couldn't find anything more on the Toronto Draft pick rumors. Murray did say however he'd look at moving that Nashville pick to get higher up in this years draft.
*-> The fans in Montreal are crying out for the Canadiens to get some toughness back in the lineup. Jacques Martin isn't sold on adding an enforcer however it's believed. He'd still prefer to out chance teams with speed. It's expected however they will take a look at physical players who can take a regular shift. Jason Arnott's name has comeback up in the Montreal media.
*-> The Andrei Kostitsyn - Lars Eller - Scott Gomez line is in the Jacques Martin doghouse after a series of horrific games, they played a little better agains't the New York Islanders but they were a minus 5 in the Boston Bruins game. Lars Eller could be demoted to the AHL while it's being said Andrei Kostitsyn could be shopped at this years deadline to bring in some additional consistent offense. The Nashville Predators would love to have the second brother to add to their arsenal. Scott Gomez is pretty much unmovable because of his massive cap hit. Some are speculating a buyout may happen this summer.
