*-> Edmonton bloggers are reporting that the Montreal Canadiens have turned their attention towards Dustin Penner. The Habs would like to add offense and any additional size will help so the rumors are logical. The Oilers arn't shopping him more just listening to offers if they were to decide to move him. Penner is also coveted by the Los Angeles Kings who feel he would compliment Anze Kopitars skill. I haven't heard much about the Canadiens being interested but it could work while the Kings have been linked to Penner since the offseason.
*-> The Montreal Canadiens head coach Jacques Martin has told the Montreal media he doesn't want an enforcer and nor do the Habs need one. Cross those rumors off the list but that doesn't mean that the Canadiens won't add a big body who can play old time hockey and be willing to drop the gloves.
*-> The Erik Cole to Philadelphia is starting to heat back up again. I don't believe Cole is being shopped yet as the Carolina Hurricanes are still in the hunt.
*-> Chicago is currently working the phones its being said.
*-> No more news out of Ottawa this morning except that Chris Phillips could be the next to go. Its said GM Murray will inform Phillips this week about his plans for the future. Murray is expected to tell Phillips he most likely isn't part of the program and ask him to waive him no trade for the good of the team. Phillips has already stated he wishes to be part of the rebuild. Not very likely as Phillips is going to bring in a good reward.
