Ice Scoopz: Thursday Afternoon

*-> Freddy Modin wasn't on the ice for this mornings Atlanta Thrashers practice. Some are speculating he could be moved soon by the Thrashers after having a disappointing season. Many are speculating that a playoff contender may be interested in depth. From what I'm hearing is Modin's still injured and is just being careful.

*-> Ales Hemsky is believing that he could be traded by the Oilers in the near future as the Oilers management have yet to have discussions with him about a new contract. Dustin Penner has had the "future" conversation yesterday with GM Tambellini however as he was concerned about how he would fit in. Still no word how that conversation went but many are saying that Penner is more likely to stay than his counterpart Hemsky given Hemsky's injury problems.

*-> I'm hearing that Chris Phillips could be the next to go now from the Sens, I'm hearing Boston could be a possible destination. Detroit is still on the radar as well as they wish to replace Brad Stuart still. Detroit needs help soon or they could slip further. I've seen reports shortly after the Fisher deal saying it could be a Chris Phillips and Nashville's 1st round pick the Sens just acquired for Toronto's 1st round pick and Blake Wheeler. I'm not sold on the Bruins trading Wheeler and I still believe the Bruins might hold out for Tomas Kaberle. I'm trying to get a hold of my Sens contact but no luck so far, but I'll see if I can get any sort of update for later this afternoon.

*-> I'm still hearing Calgary is staying put for the time being till closer to the deadline to see where they are at before adding or subtracting.
