*-> A recent report states that Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators has indeed been asked for a list of teams he'd consider a trade to last week. Several teams have come knocking on the Sens door for Fisher but it's believed the Sens have started the bidding at an extremely high price. Fisher has said he would like to remain with the team in the past but many feel that Fisher could be now feeling like a change of scenery could help him regain his form. NorthEast division rivals the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins have both inquired Pierre LeBrun of ESPN reports. It's also said Nashville has confirmed interest and the Los Angeles Kings also appear to be in the mix.
*-> Boston and Montreal also appear to be bidding against each other for another Northeast rival's player. The two are both apparently taking a look at Toronto's Tomas Kaberle as Boston looks to add some punch while Montreal would like to have some insurence to replace the injured Markov. It's very unlikely the Leafs would deal their franchise defenseman Kaberle to a rival but if it comes down to a small number of teams on Kaberle's list then Brian Burke could be handcuffed into a deal. The San Jose Sharks, Washington Capitals, Buffalo Sabre's and the Anaheim Ducks are all rumored to be in the fray.
*-> It's official the Colorado Avalanche have signed Peter Forsberg to a one year deal, the terms are still murky but it's expected Forsberg will hit the ice sometime this week on the road.
*-> The Pittsburgh Penguins have hit the phones this weekend trying to find a replacement for Evgeni Malkin. It's said the Pens would like to add a center and a winger leading many to believe that Jason Arnott of the New Jersey Devils and Ales Hemsky of the Oilers could be options.
More later on.
