*-> Tomas Vokoun has not had any discussions with the Panthers yet about a new contract, Panthers management has said talks will start early this month with hopes of resigning Vokoun. It's still very unlikely the Panthers will resign Vokoun as he remains one of their biggest playing chips and could speed up their transition from non playoff team to playoff team. Vokoun has told the media time and time again that he'd be willing to waive his clause to help the Panthers. Everyone is still reporting that the Ottawa Senators are highly interested in Vokoun and now the Wings are interested as well. Like usual the Wasington Capitals are also rumored as are the Flyers which really doesn't make much sense.
*-> Despite my post this morning I'm now hearing Detroit is back in on the Ray Emery situation now as insurrence but would really rather have Nabokov back off the Isles. This Emery thing is starting to gain a lot of steam as of late and I'm still maintaining the 4 teams I think are realistic options are Islanders, Detroit, Wasington and odd team the San Jose Sharks.
*-> Florida GM Dale Tallon met with Montreal GM Pierre Gauthier this week furthering the speculation Montreal is in on Stephen Weiss. This comes a week later from the Canadiens scouts watching a New Jersey - Florida game. I've also heard whispers that Montreal may be interested in defenseman Bryan McCabe...
*-> The New Year Rangers have been scouting the Hersey Bears as of late, it's said the target is Sheldon Souray but the Oilers are still saying no-one is interested in Souray yet and no-one has contacted the team inregards to Souray.
