*-> GM Steve Tambellini of the Edmonton Oilers refused to comment on the avalibility of Ales Hemsky and Dustin Penner both of which are said to be up for the highest bidder. Hemsky has been linked to many teams the past few weeks every since the rumors hit the internet. The Pittsburgh Penguins have been looking at bringing in a winger for Crosby as well as now a replacement for Evgeni Malkin. Hemsky may be the best offensive player on the market if he is indeed on the market. The Atlanta Thrashers seek just that an extra offensive attacker as well as Nashville Predators who have reportedly contacted the Oilers about Hemsky. The St. Louis Blue are also looking for help. The plus side to Hemsky is that he does have another year on his contract so many non playoff teams could be interested as well. As for Penner he's been linked to Los Angeles as of late who have said to have offer Wayne Simmonds and a late pick.
*-> The Edmonton Oilers have also reportedly been looking at Linus Omark and potentially moving Omark before his player option return to Europe option clause kicks in next year. The Nashville Predators could be a team interested people are saying.
*-> Talked to my Sens source today and he said something is still there and laughed but wouldn't expand any further except that he's not trying to throw me off with random information. Talks have occured between the player in question and GM Murray but other than that he wont give names. When I asked him to comment on a few names and his thoughts he agreed as long as it was quick. Alexei Kovalev and Pittsburgh could be a good fit he agreed but hasn't heard anything internally. He said he'd be surprised about a Mike Fisher move but he would do anything for the team if needed. Jason Spezza a no go, Jarkko Ruutu could be an option and Chris Phillips he wouldn't touch yet.
