Yesterday was the KHL's trading/transfer deadline so many deals and signings went down this past week with many of the playoff contenders adding talent to help push for the Gagarin Cup while many of the weaker teams restocked and retooled.
*-> Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk has traded defenseman Andrei Sergeev to CSKA Moscow for prospect Jakub Rylov.
*-> Automobilist Ekaterinburg has been suffering from financial problems as of late and were forced to release Andrei Subbotin who quickly signed with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Alexander Ryazantsev who signed with powerhouse Salavat Yulaev Ufa, and Angel Krstevwho still has not found a new home. Denis Sokolov was also released and he signed with Torpedo. Goaltender Ivan Lisutin was also signed by rival KHL club Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
*-> Canadian Chris Simon the captain of Vityaz Chekhov was dealt as rumored to UHC Dynamo Moscow the return is still unclear.
*-> Aleksei Medvedev of UHC Moscow has been signed by Sibir.
*-> Alexei Badyukov was traded by CSKA Moscow for a 4th round pick in this years KHL draft from Ak Bars Kazan.
*-> Ottawa Senator prospect Kaspars Daugavins right's were dealt today to Dinamo Riga from Torpedo for what is believed to be future considerations. It's been reported Kaspars Daugavins has been in discussions with the KHL club and has expressed interest in joining Riga if the Sens do not resign this summer.
*-> American Nick Angell will join Avangard Omsk from Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
*-> Metallurg Novokuznetsk also moved Aleksandr Golovin to Spartak Moscow for Mikhail Ryzanov.
*-> Yugra traded Konstantin Chashchukhin to Automobilist Ekaterinburg for Vitali Sitnikov.
*-> Sibir added former Phoenix draft pick defenseman Kirill Safronov from Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.
*-> Sibir also released Mikhail Chernov on a mutual agreement, who signed on with Spartak Moscow.
*-> Grigori Misharin has been traded from CSKA Moscow to Metallurg Magnitogorsk for goaltender Ilya Proskuryakov.
*-> Former NHLer Danny Markov was dealt from Vityaz Chekhov to SKA St. Petersburg. Not much is known about the return for Markov but it's believed to be a high pick in the KHL draft.
*-> Finally Barys Astana has released Aleksandr Shin who quickly signed a 2 year deal with Traktor.
A quick signing or signings to note:
*-> Canadian Raymond Giroux has re-signed with Traktor for 2 years while American Darren Quint and Gennady Razin have all also signed two year deals with the club.
