*-> The New York Islanders have placed Mike Mottau and Rick DiPietro on the injured reserve. Mottau who will miss the rest of the season after undergoing hip surgery while DiPietro will miss at least seven days as a precaution because of knee swelling.

Ah, poor Dipietro. At least for Garth and Wang, only a dozen more years on that contract, and im sure the knee will be just fine...
