Ice Scoopz: Wednesday Noon

*-> Anton Gustafsson of the Washington Capitals is contemplating retirement as he's unhappy the way his career has landed. In a recent interview with Swedish newspapers he's said he was demoralized by being bounced around between the Hersey Bears and the ECHL by the Capitals. At the start of the season he took off back to Sweden to contemplate his future in hockey. After not playing all this time he's finally put on the skates and has begun practicing with a Swedish div 3 team. He is still unsure of his future.

*-> Mark Fistric of the Dallas Stars is rumored to be heading down to the AHL to play with the Texas Stars.

*-> The Columbus Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson has been working the phones in an attempt to obtain a number 1 to 2 defenseman. Columbus is rumored to reinterested in the Toronto Maple Leafs Tomas Kaberle. The Jackets are also rumored to be mildly interested in Kevin Bieksa of the Vancouver Canucks. It was reported yesterday they have no interest in Marc-Andre Bergeron like previously rumored.

*-> Speaking of M.A Bergeron, his surgery has gone well and expects to be ready to go by Christmas as hs agents has started trying to work the phones. His agent confirmed yesterday that he has been in steady contact with 4 teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was also revealed the pucking moving blue liner is seaking a 2 year 1 way deal but most teams were offering a 1 year.

*-> The Los Angeles Kings are eyeing Sergei Samsonov of the Carolina Hurricanes in an attempt to add more fire power for the new year.
