*-> Brian Rolston has been placed on waivers by the New Jersey Devils TSN's Bob McKenzie has twittered. A surprise out of the Brick, while Rolston is no longer the same player he was, he still has value. It's no secret the Devils have cap issues after the Kovalchuk signing this was long over due but it makes you wonder if a trade or a planned claim is coming.
*-> Team Canada has made their first round of cuts today as the road to the World Juniors in Buffalo winds down. Defensemen Brayden McNabb, Jesse Blacker, and forwards Brad Ross, Brendan Gallagher, Linden Vey, Garrett Wilson, Joey Hishon were all released this afternoon. The only real surprise out of the bunch was Joey Hishon, the rest had a slim chance to begin with. I do like what Brad Ross brings to the table but talent over jam is more important during international play.

Going in, I thought McNabb had a shot to make the team, but I agree, no real surprises just yet.
