Trade!

I have seen two Islanders games live this year, and I can honestly say Sutton is one of the slowest players in the league. It is not the year 2002 anymore. I am expecting Murray will bring in Mike Rathje and Dan McGillis next.

The Sens still need a puck-moving D-man who can play the powerplay, and that 2nd rounder they gave up would have helped.

Scoopz, do you think SJ's 2nd round (basically a 3rd round) was too much for Sutton? I agree with the fact that he's a huge body (6'6,245) and will make the opposition think twice about standing in our crease, but his lack of speed and general skating ability might hurt us in the end. Do you think BM is done tinkering with our D, or do you think this is the 1st of more to come?

I'm very surprised it cost a 2nd to get Sutton, even a late 2nd.

I thought a 4th would've been enough.

I'm very disappointed we had 2nd rounders and game away with marginal rental in Cullen and Sutton. I'd rather two prospects like Lehner and Silfverberg.

I do think Sutton can help, but I will worry when he and Carkner are in the line up at the same time.

I'm not too sure what Murray was doing here. The issue for most of the season has been a puck moving D. Karlsson isn't ready yeat and Lee has bombed. Kuba is alright but needs a lot of help. Campoli should be a second unit guy. The Sens already have Phillips, Volchenkov and Carkner to do the shutting down so this deal confuses me.

A second round wouldnt have been so bad except for the Cullen deal before that. If Murray wants a puck moving defenseman he used up most of his chips. I doubt anybody would take Lee for a top 4 guy right now and I doubt Murray wants to start peddling prospects because he's smarter than that. Unless he can work a deal with a roster player involved his cap space done as well. So if he can package one of Donovan, Neil, Cheechoo, Kelly or Ruutu and maybe Lee he might have enough to swing a deal but for a lower end kind of guy.

I know Murray is looking for a cheap forward for secondary scoring so I think he'll add someone but nothing major. It most likely wont be that puck moving guy he needs.
