A few quick ones for you guys. I want to see your guys top 15 I think it'll be interesting to compare. Ill have the back half of the draft later this week.
*-> The noise around Scott Niedermayer should end today as Ducks management has told the LA Times that they have spoke to Niedermayer about the subject of a trade and he has his mind set on retiring as a Duck. They will not approach him on the subject and unless Niedermayer wants a chance with another team he will remain a Duck. That sucks for the Ducks as he'd have a fortune in returns for the prized blueliners.
*-> Another Anaheim Duck defenseman is quietly been shopped. Nick Boyton is on the block as he's an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Ducks so far have had little interest in him but Phoenix, and Vancouver I hear are watching.
*-> A rumor CA posted this morning, the Ottawa Senators are looking at landing Andrew Cogliano again from the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers in exchange would receive Brian Lee and a 2nd rounder. I haven't come across this one but I have heard the Sens would love to dump Lee while he still has some value. Its also no secret the Oilers would part with Cogliano and the Sens almost had him in the offseason. I think its a deal that could happen but not with a 2nd round. I'd say maybe a 5th instead or just a 2nd rounder. Good rumor.

CA's Top 15 in the draft (no teams)
1. Taylor Hall (obvious choice, plus wingers are in high demand)
2. Tyler Seguin (upside: Vinny Lecavalier, downside: Stephen Weiss)
3. Cam Fowler (leadership of Team USA and shutdown of Canada will guarantee him a top 3 pick)
4. Mikael Granlund (Scandanavian Scorer is a much hyped Euro)
5. Riley Sheahan (Notre Dame, US college program)
6. Brett Connolly (WHL winger needs to grow into his frame)
7. Brandon Gormley (Quebec League D-men have been getting better)
8. Nino Neitterreider (Breakout WJC put him on the map)
9. Derek Forbort (6'5 defenceman, why not?)
10. Erik Gudbranson (Injuries will bring down this rearguard's stock)
11. Vlad Tarasenko (typical Russian winger)
12. John McFarland (Hasn't lived up to expectations, tons of skill)
13. Kirill Kabanov (too much talent to slip further)
14. Alexander Burmistrov (small guy)
15. Tyler Toffoli (consistent offense on Ottawa 67's)
I read online that Halak (plus a draft pick) could be heading to Edmonton and that Cogliano and Jeff Petry (Michigan State D-man) could be headed to Montreal, but also that if the deal isn't put together by Monday it is possible that the deal could be expanded.
The Canadiens would like Gilbert Brule in this deal as well and that could be a part of the expansion but would likely "cost them a player they hope to re-sign."
Plekanec? I don't know, what do you think scoopz?
C.A your list looks pretty good. Nino Neitterreider was a very hard decesion to cut off my list but 1 world Juniors may not be enough although he looked extremely good. Kabanov I doubt will drop that low considering the factors but anything is possible.
Anybody else going to post theirs? I'm interested to see!
as to B-Rice's comments/question. I saw that deal as well but it is believed off now or entirely false. People are reporting there is a bidding war for Andrew Cogliano but I don't believe Montreal is involved unless it includes Halak. Montreal has already taken one risk on a under achieving draft pick in Poulliot no need to go after Brule. As for Plekanec goodluck getting him from Montreal right now. The Habs want/need him badly. The Deadline may be the only chance and even then it would have to be for a major offensive star.
