*-> Several rumors have John Michael Liles headed to the Buffalo Sabres as he's falling out of the Colorado Avalanche managements goodbooks. Kyle Quincey has essentially stolen his job and he is expendable at this point. The only negative to this rumor is that he holds a no movement clause which would make him almost unshoppable unless he was unhappy in Denver.
*-> The Flyers appear to be standing pat and waiting to see if the team pulls itself back together. The dressingroom is rumored to be in termoil so Philly is looking for a good lockeroom guy to shake things up and add a punch. Ray Whitney could be that guy. The Flyers have also revealed that Montreal reportedly asked them for Jeff Carter in return for Jaroslav Halak and a 2 round. I doubt that they would ever accept that but they are indeed shopping Jeff Carter to clear up some cap space and also bring in some consistent help.

Halak and a 2nd for Carter? Philly would need a GM like Milbury to make THAT one happen...
Does dressingroom turmoil just follow Ray Emery around, or is it more than just a coincidence?
True Charles, but Halak is a good fit for Philly (low salary, RFA at years end). Plus, I doubt Richards would be too happy if his buddy were shipped out. Maybe thats what they need, change up the "young leadership" on the team. Ray Emery isn't the perp this time. He's a publicity hog, but I don't think he's the root of the problem (there or Ottawa)... The young leadership in the room and their nightlife is the real issue (Richards/Carter = Heatley/Redden).

I agree with annonymous, I think Halak would be a good fit but scoring and leadership is more of a problem than Emery. They need a shakeup guy, someone who will command respect and the young guys will listen. Laperiere was suposed to be that dressingroom guy. Unfortunately for the Flyers there's not many guys like that out there anymore. Rod BrindAmour is in the doghouse in Carolina so maybe for the right offer the Canes would part with BrindAmour. He's been a healthy scratch as of late and may need a new location to start a new role with the Canes looking to get younger. As for Halak I believe he will have a new home by seasons end but Philly is unlikely since he'll end up in the same situation when Sugar Ray gets back.
