Ice Scoopz: Tuesday Morning

Here is this mornings news and signings.

*-> Vesa Toskala has signed a deal with AIK in the Swedish Elite League after several unsuccessful seasons in the past few years with Anaheim, Calgary and mainly Toronto.

*-> Zach Kassian of the Windsor Spitfires has signed and Entry Level contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

*-> Fellow prospect Landon Ferraro son of Ray Ferraro also has signed an entry level deal with the Detroit Red Wings this morning.

*-> Free agent Jay Pandolfo is reported to be contemplating retirement after receiving virtually no interest this spring. Pandolfo has remained in shape and still trainings daily for a possible return but has acknowledged that the salary cap era has effected many veterans and an earlier retirement then planned may be in the near future unless and injury ravaged team takes interest. He's not interested in a two way deal at this point in his career.

Scoopz,

Heard a rumour on another board about a player missing a game to go on a "group date" with a chick he was interested in...have you hear about this?

Any idea what kind of punishment will be meted out if it is true? I can't imagine how the player could face his 'mates after such a despicable act...

P.S. As you suggested, I think the Havlat rumours are rumours of convenience that picked up steam because a bunch of dudes think it makes sense. In reality, it makes no sense, 'Sens have struggled in part because they can't stay healthy (Kuba, Spezza, Michalek, now Alfie's nicked up). I can't see any way Murray saddles the team with Havlat's deal, given his injury history and declining production.

I haven't heard that rumour yet but it's something I can see happening in mens league. It also sounds like a report from CA. I suppose it really doesn't matter though as I'm sure he's just giving his teamates a chance to catch up to his career stats ;).

On the Havlat part, I can't really see the Sens making that move or the Wild unless Fletcher really want's to take on multiple contracts or a heavy under achieving one who Havlat should pass in scoring if he's healthy.
