*-> Kris Russell is reportedly 100% being dealt today Brian Burke has hinted. Russell has attracted a ton of interest around the league and is expected to fetch a 1st round pick which is the Flames ideal asking price. Pittsburgh, Dallas, Los Angeles, Boston, Florida have all been highly interested. It's expected though once Hamhuis the main defenceman on the market drops then Russell will shortly follow.
The Flames as previously reported are willing to move Jonas Hiller for a team looking for playoff depth.
David Jones is being shopped hard as well with a few suitors but the Flames don't expect anything major for a return.
Matt Stajan is another interesting name in Calgary as he's not unrestricted but doesn't appear to be a major piece of the Flames puzzle going forward. His cap hit might deter suitors however as many of the contenders don't have room to take a large hit on a 3rd line center. He may have to be part of a non playoff picture hockey deal where the Flames get a useful player in return.
Dennis Wideman was rumored to be on his way out of Calgary before the suspension. That ugly incident may have killed the Flames chances of any deal especially with his even uglier play this season and not to mention 5 million dollar cap hit.
The Flames will listen to any offers as long as any of their kids aren't one of them anyone else the Flames will at least listen to offers. Expect the Flames to be 2nd busiest Canadian team behind the Leafs despite not much being available.
