Not much in the news so far this morning but I have heard a few quick ones.
*-> The Minnesota Wild have placed Patrick O'Sullivan on waivers with intent to send him to the minors. The Wild management have also said that they have no plans to trade O'Sullivan as there is no market for him.
*-> Something may be going down involving Chris Phillips, it could just be rumors but I'm hearing it over and over this morning. Some are saying San Jose is trying to make a move as well. Could they be linked?

Why does Patrick O'Sullivan get no respect around the league. I liked him on Edmonton, he had a 54 point season in LA, and he was on pace for around 30 points with Minny. Is he just soft? You'd think a bunch of teams would appreciate that kind of offensive contribution, so what gives? I mean, he's gotta be better than Peter Regin at this point, right?

I agree, there's got to be more than inconistent and even poor defensive play that's preventing O'Sullivan from sticking with a team.
In a league starved for offense, there should be several teams trying to reconstruct his game, but I have to assume that he's uncoachable, a problem in the room, has off-ice issues, etc.
Just once in awhile, I'd like to see the Sens, a team that has trouble attracting free agents with their best years still ahead of them, take a chance on a player or two like O'Sullivan and try to coach them up.
With a dearth of scoring draft prospects and limited ability to make trades under the cap, seems like the only way to make up some ground in forward talent, even if it means the organization needs to get lucky.
And yes, defintitely better than Regin at this point, but that's not saying a lot. So much for the Muckler draft apologists that consistently trumpet the "gem" he found in Regin...
