Ice Scoopz: Tuesday Afternoon

*-> Bill Guerin has agreed to a try out with the Philadelphia Flyers despite his anti-tryout comments earlier this week. It's still going to be a tight fit with Phillys cap against the wall but he might be able to play himself into the attention of another team.

*-> Bobby Ryan and the Anaheim Ducks have finally ended their summer long contract battle. Ryan has agreed to a 5 year deal with Anaheim worth 5.1 million per season or 25.5$ million total. Ryans name was heating up again last night in the rumor mills as the Ducks were reportedly worried over the terms. It looks like a late night negotiating session paid off instead of a deal. 5.1$ is still steap for Ryan as it looks like he got his asking price but the Ducks managed to get him long term so if Bobby Ryan tears this deal will be in Anaheims favor.

*-> Peter Forsberg still refuses to call it a career. Forsberg who has been in the spotlight after Colorado announced he'll be attending their 1996 Cup win aniversary has told the media he still hasn't ruled out a return to the NHL this season. While Forsbergs foot still hasn't fully healed he has hope he'll find new equipment that will atleast allow him to play comfortably. Forsberg has no plans to attend any training camps this fall but will look to suit up again in the Swedish elite League.

*-> More headlines for Islander prospect Kirill Kabanov as he was late yesterday dfor the Islanders rookie camp. The Isles management therefore benched him for the session as disapline. There has been reports of Kabanov missing his flight as the reason for his tardyness. Just another bad headline for the talented Russian but it appears he's atleast trying to head in the right direction as he's mended the bridges with the Moncton Wildcats and intends on playing the season with them unless the Islanders come knocking or they send him to Bridgeport of the AHL. One positive among the many negatives but personally I feel his situation isn't as bad as the media has spun it out to be. His above the rest attitude doesn't help but it's just been a series or bad luck from a season ending wrist injury, to a battle with the KHL/Russian Federation, to an imposing father. It sounds a little like Big E and he turned out alright after he matured. What do you guys think?

*-> Sheldon Souray will not be attending the Edmonton Oilers camp he and Steve Tambellini has told the media. It looks like the Oilers are knee deep in this Souray situation and are going to have to step up the trade talks otherwise their looking at a buyout or a demotion and an even more disgruntled Souray speaking his mind.
