Ice Scoopz: Friday Morning

*-> Brendan Morrison is attempting to earn a contract with his former team the Vancouver Canucks after accepting a training camp offer from the team.

*-> Lucas Krajicek is headed to the Czech Extra Liga after being the odd man out in Philly this season. He's signed on with HC Trinec.

*-> Several reports last night have Patrick O'Sullivan signing with the Carolina Hurricanes on a 1 year but 2 way contract.O'Sullivan could rebound his career with this fresh start but the Hurricanes may not the be the best location for a career year or ever a comeback season.

*-> As mentioned earlier this week Paul Mara has officially signed with the Anaheim Ducks for 750K for the year.

*-> The Dallas Stars have resigned RFA's Matt Niskanen and James Neal. Neal will make 2.87$ mil for 2 years which works out to 5.75$ mil overall while Niskanen's cap hit is 1.5$ million also over two years (3$ mil total). Both contracts are both financially responsable which works out extremely well for the Stars. One would have to wonder though if the Stars should have or could have pushed for a longer exstention on Neal as he will be a key fixture in their future.

*-> Jose Theodore's agent has told the media his client will not be attending any training camps this fall and could have a deal in place once camps are over. He also stated his client is the best option out there and therefore on that basis alone he doesn't have to attend any as offers will come to him. Theodore is one of the best out there which is agreed but he's going to have to drop is asking price to a bargain and accept a way lesser role before he even gets close to a contract. it could be a long season for Theo especially since he clearly isn't commited to proving himself and relying on name value alone.

*-> Kyle Wellwood's agent has told Phoenix media that if his client doesn't make the Coyotes out of camp he most likely will head to Europe. He has several offers on the table but the NHL is his number one concern right now. Not many teams are interested in Wellwood due to his size his agent reports.
