Ice Scoopz: Monday Morning

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I didn't get to enjoy much of it as I was busy at work. Lots of work for the new site which if all goes as planned should be premiering before training camps open. I'll have a post later this week about the new site and some new contests for the new season and no I haven't forgotten to announce the winner of the Free Agent Friday contest as I figure the winner knows he won as he was the only one who particpated haha. I've announce that tomorrow along with their final score. Lots going on despite the slow offseason news and rumors. Here's what we missed this weekend.

*-> Friday afternoon former Ottawa Senator Brendan Bell signed a 1 year one way deal with the New York Rangers.

*-> After freshly signing a deal with the Ottawa Senators defenseman Lee Sweatt announced his retirement from hockey and will persue a career in Finance.

*-> Another former Ottawa Senator puck moving defenseman has decided to ply his trade somewhere else as Andre Benoit heads back to Europe to play for Spartak Moscow of the KHL.

*-> Janne Pesonen has left Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL to join the Winnipeg Jets.

*-> Maxime Clermont of the Gatineau Olympiques has signewd a 3 year entry level deal with the New Jersey Devils.

*-> Former Los Angeles King Peter Harold has also signed on with the Jersey Devils.

*-> Shut down defenseman Scott Hannan has signed a 1 year deal worth 1 million dollars with the Calgary Flames.
