*-» As previously mentioned this morning the Washington Capitals have indeed signed prospect Mattias Sjögren to an entry level deal.
*-» The Carolina Hurricanes were also busy getting their prospects inked today as they have signed Mattias Lindström of Skellefteå and Tommi Kivistö of Jokerit this afternoon.
*-» It appears both parties have quickly come to a deal with Tim Erixon and the New York Rangers as it has been announced he has officially signed with the blueshirts.
*-» Thee Florida Panthers have signed Jack Skille to a 2 year deal, terms have yet to be announced.
*-» The Cats have also signed KHLer and 6th round draft pick Roman Derlyuk to an entry level deal. Roman Derlyuk played last season for Moscow Dynamo of the K.
*-» The Florida Panthers have also announced that Kevin Dineen will be there next head coach replacing Pete DeBoer.

Trade! Calgary -» New York Rangers
Looks like a trade has broken while I was mowing my lawn on this sunny Wednesday afternoon.
*-. The Calgary Flames have traded defenseman Tim Erixon and their 5th round draft pick to the New York Rangers inexchange for Roman Horak and two 2nd round draft picks. Erixon wa`s reportedly uninterested in signing in Calgary and they were forced to deal him before todays 5pm deadline otherwise he would have reentered the draft.

*-» The Montreal Canadiens have been hit twice by the KHL club Barys Astana as forwards Nigel Dawes and Dustin Boyd have both decided to take their game to Kazakastan and the KHL. Both were offered multi million dollar deals to leave the NHL on a 1 year contract each.
*-» The Los Angeles Kings have signed Gatineau Olympiques defenseman Nicolas Deslauriers to a 3 year entry level deal this morning.
*-» Defenseman Sami Vatanen has finally joined the Anaheim Ducks after signing a deal yesterday leaving behind his Finnish team JYP.
*-» Yesterday the Ottawa Senators signed prospect Jakob Siilferberg to an entry level deal.
*-» Alexander Selak has officially returned to the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks as he also left Europe for an NHL contract. The deal is reportedly worth 625K$ and is only for a season but is a one way clause only.

*-» On with the Ottawa Senators coaching staff news. Yesterday afternoon I was told by a valuable source that a secret coaching interview quite possibly had taken place. The rumors around Ottawa have been swirling to who their next coach could be. Many were saying Bob Hartley before he flat out denied anything to do with Ottawa then accepted a position with the ZSC Lions in the DEL. Another name that has been consistently been thrown in the mix is Team Canada World Junior coach Dave Cameron as him and Eugene Melnyk are extremely close and he also currnelty coaches for Melnyks St. Michaels Majors. I`m not too sure however the Sens are going to be willing to give another unexperienced coach in Cameron another chance as they`ve been burned 3 times already. This has lead to the recent rumor that has many Montreal Canadiens fans cringing....Kirk Muller who is rumored to be seeking a head coach position. My Source close to the Sens had confirmed there is much interest in Muller but not just out of Ottawa. Now what everyones been waiting for my source who phoned me yesterday has informed me that former Montreal Canadien Guy Carbonneau may have already been interviewed by the Ottawa Senators and is a favorite currently for the position. Carbs already has NHL experience and while he wasn`t great with the Canadiens he wasn`t terrible ether and left the league with respect as the Canadiens did the respectful things and allowed him to step down. What do the Ottawa fans think of yet another defense first minded coach in Ottawa..Let us know!

Ice Scoopz: Monday Noon
We're back on track after a brief hiatus due to personal reasons but we should be good to move forward starting with this week. Once again sorry for any inconvience but we should be finally delay free and ready to get going once again!I know theirs been several delays this spring but this lastest bunch of family reasons has finally been put behind us and we're 100% ready to go. I'm excited and have been preparing for the draft while on this latest break. I've been watching a ton of tape and have been pumping out reports on a nightly basis so this years draft coverage should be my best ever. In the next few weeks I'll be working on my official draft preview and predictions so if any of you guys have any questions or even previews of your own feel free to post them again. *-> Russian defenseman Vyachaslav Voinov of the Los Angeles Kings has reportedly contacted his former club about possibly returning to Russia. The promising blueliner would love to remain in the NHL but is apparently upset with the Kings bringing him along slowly and the lack of a chance for him to showcase his efforts in the NHL. The Traktor GM Eugene Tsybuk has acknowledged that Voinov would like to return to Russia if he doesn't get the chance and promised to help him sign with Traktor if that is the case.
*-> Tomas Vokoun is also attracting interest from overseas. Avangard OMSK is reportedly clearly up their finances in order to make an offer for the upcoming free agent goaltender.
*-> The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed former Team Sweden goaltender Mark Owuya to a 3 year entry level deal.
*-> Mattias Sjogren of Farjestad is reportedly close to a deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
*-> Sjogrens Farjestad teammate Dick Axelsson is also close to a deal with the Detroit Red Wings. Axelsson has been coveted for quite some time by the Detroit Red Wings who have been in talks since drafting the young Swede to try and bring him accross the pond. Jagr who was quoted at the World Championships to Russian Sport as saying he thought he still could play would look at everything after the Worlds.
